Lime
Ginger beer

The classic Moscow Mule in a spicy and aromatic version with aquavit from Oslo. Very refreshing.

Fill a High-ball glass with ice, pour in the aquavit, squeeze a lime wedge into the glass and top with ginger beer. Stir and garnish with lime.

Nordic Negroni

2 cl Aquavit Blank
2 cl bitter / Campari
2 cl red vermouth 

The Italian classic gin cocktail with a Nordic twist.   

Stir together with ice. Serve in a rock glass filled with ice cream and garnish with lemon zest or a slice of orange.

 

The south side

5 cl Akevitt Blank
2 cl lime juice
2 cl sugar syrup (equal parts sugar and water)
5-6 mint leaves 

From the speakeasy in Al Capone's Southside Chicago to the Norwegian cabin. Here you get lots of herbal freshness to indulge in.

 Put mint leaves and the rest of the ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake hard and double strain.

Fjord fiesta

5 cl OHD Akevitt
2 cl sugar or mint syrup
2 cl lime juice
6-7 mint leaves
Soda 

An arctic mojito with an aquavit made with wild mint plants and aged in bourbon barrels. A refreshing drink for hot days. Or when you need a taste of summer in the middle of the winter.

In a High-ball glass, gently muddle the mint leaves. Pour in the Akevitt and lime juice before stirring. Fill the glass with ice, top with soda and stir. Garnish with a stick of mint.

Scandi daiquiri

5 cl OHD Akevitt
3 cl lime juice
2 cl sugar syrup (equal parts sugar and water) 

Who would have thought that this Cuban classic would be so good with aquavit? Caraway and bourbon barrels are a perfect match for lime.

Put all the ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake well and strain into a coupe / cocktail glass.

2 cl Bendictine D.O.M 

A Bobby Burns with aquavit instead of Scotch whisky. Three herbal liquids mixed together into a rich and warming cocktail.

Stir all the ingredients together over ice and strain into a coupe / cocktail glass. Garnish with a maraschino cherry.

Vidda and tonic

4 cl Vidda Dry Gin
Tonic, it works very well with a elderflower or herbal one.

We like to make a gin & tonic with Vidda which emphasizes that it is only made with ingredients that grow wild in Norway. Garnish with blueberries and a sprig of rosemary.

hardangervidda cocktail

4 cl Vidda Dry Gin
2 cl sugar brine (equal parts sugar and water)
2 cl lemon juice
Dry apple cider 

Like the Bergen line, we cross the country with this cocktail. Apple cider from Western Norway, botanicals from Hardangervidda and a spirit made from potatoes from Eastern Norway. All distilled at it end station in Oslo.

Shake the Vidda, sugar syrup and lemon juice in a shaker with ice. Strain into a champagne glass and top with apple cider. Garnish with a lemon peel.

BLUEBERRY HEATHER

4 cl Vidda Dry Gin
1.5 cl sugar syrup (equal parts sugar and water)
3 cl lemon juice
Blueberry syrup * / - cordial or jam
A Gin sour with a taste of Norwegian nature

Shake the Vidda, lemon and sugar together with ice and strain into a rock glass filled with ice (preferably crushed). Pour over 1.5 cl blueberry syrup or a spoonful of blueberry jam. Garnish with blueberries.

* Heat up equal parts water, sugar, and blueberries. Let it soak until it has cooled and strain out the berries.

Fjæra and tonic

4 cl Fjæra Rosé Gin
Tonic (preferably a classic Indian tonic)

Fjæra is great for a dry and fresh gin & tonic. We like to garnish it with fresh raspberries and a lemon peel.

FLORADORA

5 cl Fjæra Rosé Gin
2 cl raspberry syrup
2 cl lemon juice
Ginger beer
 

Pink in colour, but so fresh and balanced that everyone will like it.

* Heat equal parts water, sugar and raspberries. Let it soak until it has cooled and strain the berries.

Clover club

5 cl Fjæra Rosé Gin
2 cl raspberry syrup *
2 cl lemon juice
1 egg white 

A cocktail from before the Prohibition era. By combining the refreshing, fruity and a clear taste of gin, this has become a real classic that suits Fjæra especially well.

Shake all the ingredients first without ice. Then shake with ice and strain into a coupe / cocktail glass. Garnish with a raspberry and a bit of lemon peel.

Norwegian wood and tonic

5 cl Norwegian Wood

Mint

When we developed the vodka, this was the drink we used to test whether the recipe worked.

Fill a Highball glass with ice. Pour in vodka and top with tonic. Garnish with a mint sprig.

FOREST SPRITZ

4 cl Norwegian Wood
1 cl Elderflower syrup or liqueur
1.5 cl lemon juice
Soda 

Pour vodka, elderflower syrup / liqueur and lemon juice into a glass and stir. Fill with ice and top with soda. Garnish with a mint sprig and lemon peel.

Norwegian wood martini

6 cl Norwegian Wood
1 cl dry Vermouth 

Stir vodka and vermouth with ice and pour into a coupe or martini glass. Garnish with a piece of lemon peel.

marka and tonic

5 cl Marka Bitter
Tonic
A slightly bitter aperitif 

Fill a Highball glass with ice. Pour in vodka and top with tonic.

marka spritz

3 cl Marka Bitter
1.5 cl Lemon juice
1.5 cl honey syrup (Equal parts honey and water)
Lager or pilsner

 A Norwegian version of the Italian drink.

Fill a red wine or balloon glass with ice. Pour in Marka, lemon juice and honey syrup and stir. Top up with lager and stir. Garnish with orange slices that are pushed into the glass.

AX AND SAW

4 cl Marka Bitter
Cola
Stout

 A rich and spicy drink that is a worthy end to a day in the woods.

Make sure that both the cola and the stout are well chilled. Pour Marka into a rock glass. Then fill half the glass with cola and top with stout.
